The Staunton Harold Triathlon is set on a privately owned estate in the stunning surroundings of Staunton Harold Hall providing the perfect backdrop for a fun and enjoyable open-water triathlon.
We will be swimming in the larger lake for 2019.
The bike route is undulating through South Derbyshire countryside while the run takes place through the National Forest at Biggin Wood.
Information for beginners
All you need is a swimming costume or trunks, a wetsuit, goggles, a bike (road or mountain bike as long as it is in roadworthy condition),a cycle helmet (compulsory) and a pair of trainers.

The individual triathlon
The adult events are open to anyone over the age of 15 (on 31/12/19). You must complete all three disciplines with no outside assistance. Your time will be taken from when you start the swim to when you finish the run.
The swim - 400m / 750m
To start the event you need to swim either 1 or 2 laps of the beautiful calm lake (any stroke is fine) and then you make your way to the transition area and prepare for the bike ride.
The bike - 1 lap 14K / 2 laps 24K
After completing the swim you will then jump on your bike around the local country lanes.
Run - 1 lap 4K / 2 laps 8K
Once the bike has been completed you then return to transition for the run around the surrounding paths and includes some off road sections.

The event will be held under the rules of the British Triathlon federation. As always, your bicycle must be in a roadworthy condition and a helmet must be worn during the cycle section.
Prizes will be awarded to first in each 10 year age category (for adults) and the following juniors (8-9, 10-11, 12-13, 14-15) as well as Relay teams,
