The Staunton Harold Duathlon is set on a privately owned estate in the stunning surroundings of Staunton Harold Hall providing the perfect backdrop for a fun and enjoyable Duathlon. The bike route is undulating through South Derbyshire countryside while the run takes place through the National Forest at Biggin Wood.
Information for beginners
All you need is a a bike (road or mountain bike as long as it is in roadworthy condition),a cycle helmet (compulsory) and a pair of trainers.
You will be given full instructions before the event and if you have any questions please don't hesitate to get in touch, by email or social media.
The individual event
The adult events are open to anyone over the age of 15 (on 31/12/19). You must complete all three disciplines with no outside assistance. Your time will be taken from when you start the first run to when you finish the second run.
Run 1 - 1.5K both events
This is a short run around around the paths and smaller lake within the estate grounds, this will be the same for both distances and will be an exciting start to the event.
The bike - 1 lap 14K / 2 laps 24K
After completing the first run you will then jump on your bike around the local country lanes.
Run - 2 lap 4K / 2 laps 8K
Once the bike has been completed you then return to transition for the run around the surrounding paths and includes some off road sections.

The event will be held under the rules of the British Triathlon federation. As always, your bicycle must be in a roadworthy condition and a helmet must be worn during the cycle section.
Prizes will be awarded to first in each 10 year age category (for adults) and the following juniors (8-9, 10-11, 12-13, 14-15) as well as Relay teams,
